Year 6 Meeting an Author
On Thursday 6th June, to celebrate Empathy Day, Y6 took a walk to Kilburn Library to meet author, Inbal Leitner.
Whilst there, Inbal took the children through her story book, 'The Longest, Strongest Thread' and they were extremely engaged as they explored how the story links to herself, her childhood and her life since leaving Israel. She also taught the children how to make their own illustrations in the same way that she created the images for her book.
After that, the children were tasked to create their own 'empathy' illustrations to show how they are linked to someone who lives far away and the things that bind them together.
At the end of our afternoon together, Inbal then gifted a signed copy of her book to the Y6 class.
