Eva's Poem - Jan 2025

St. Elizabeth class have been learning about using metaphors in writing poetry recently. The children were encouraged to use the sea as a basis for their thoughts.

Eva's poem (below) doesn't reference the sea directly (apart from in the title) but you can certainly feel the movement in the rhythm of this outstanding piece of work.

Well done to Eva!

The Sibling of the Sea

A calm clean girl

Annoyed by her brother

She always hated him but

Since they are twins

They must love each other.

She always sings, he always shouts

And people always want to play with her

But she is at war with her brother.

A noisy dirty boy

Annoyed by his sister

He always hated her

But mum tells him to be nice.

He always shouts, she always sings

And people run away

Terrified from him going to her.

He is at war with his sister.
